metamorphose
went to a music festival in the mountains of izu peninsula on the weekend... it was pretty huge... about 20,000 people under the stars and (nearly) full moon... a few heavyweights were spinning there, the likes of hawtin, fumiya tanaka, darren emerson... heaps of food stalls serving up not too standard fare like north african and russian food... highlight of the night for me was juan atkins performing under his model 500 moniker with a 4 man unit... went nuts when they banged out 'clear' (as sampled by missy elliot for 'lose control') LIVE whilst huge ass lasers were shining crazy patterns on a chunk of the forest below... that was truly memorable...a few flicks....
