support the autopsy

We are wanting to rally your support with a fund raiser for our independent space here in Melbourne, Australia. I respect you and your time limits, but hope we can arrange something to rock us all!

I know it sometimes seems as if everyone wants something for free - I hope you don't see it like this - Instead see it as a chance to help lift an independent art space a little further off the ground.

Many of the traditional and well estabilished art spaces frown upon new and independent art spaces which makes it difficult to become estabilished and a force to be reckoned with here in Australia. Yes Australia is a ultra conservative country in many aspects still.

We are running a fund raising show at the Autopsy Gallery based on the theme of ULTRA MODERN CONSERVATISM - Each artist will be set to work on paper measuring A5 (148mm by 210mm) to explore the theme.

You can work in any medium of your liking - Just hit that theme with passion and we shall look after the rest!

All works will be sold for $100.00 to 250.00 and the money raised will be used to assist us at the gallery to develop our space even further which we run in conjunction with our day jobs. It is a dream we want to keep dreaming!!!

We are supporting local and international artists in our space - We want to keep doing this and allow young and up and coming artists to have somewhere they can come and develop whilst mixing with estabilished artists from our generation. We are exhibiting Merda, Ben Frost, Jose Parla, Stormie Mills, Robert Hardgrave, Mr Jago, Remi Rough, etc, etc - Such fundraisers will help us help artists and the art community to take things further.

As many of you know we are a small, independent gallery space located in St Kilda East, Melbourne, Australia - The Autopsy proudly represents outsider, iconoclastic artists on a local and international level.

The Autopsy has grown through friendship and the Basefield Projects which raised money for charity during 2001 through to 2003. Some of the artist’s that have supported us in the past, include Merda, Doze Green, Geoff McFetridge, Tobin Yelland, Kid Acne, Kev Grey, Niko Stumpo, Maya Hayuk, Stormie Mills, Remi Rough, Evan Hecox, Mephisto Jones, Norm AWR MSK, Christofer Chin, Steven Harrington, Lee Misenhiemer, Dmote, Delta, Rinzen, Fafi, Derrick Hodgson, Mike Giant, Geoff McFetridge, Tim Biedron, Cody Hudson, Mr Jago, Misery, Ben Frost, Richard Colman, Travis Millard, Michael Leon, Sam Flores and Dalek to name a few.

We hope that you see our vision and choose to help us push for the next level here in Melbourne, Australia!

If you are interested please contact jade at the gallery on

support this new business

from the owner...

"I have opened up a little Mexican Restaurant in Melbourne. It's called The Burrito Brothers in homage to the band and the BBTC where I ate countless primo Bean Dinners during my years in Gainesville. It's in a cool little venue called IDGAFF at 160 Hoddle St Abbotsford 9486-9900 and Wed the 21st is our first official night of serving. If you live in Melbourne and are sick of overpriced, bland, microwaved Mexican come on down sometime and see what we have to offer. It's real simple, real fresh and nothing on the menu is over $10 bucks. If your visiting or know people coming to Melbourne who may enjoy a good inexpensive meal in a funky out of the way place, send em our way. Also, if you know anyone who may be interested in this sort of thing please tell them as I'm staking my family's future on this thing!! So OK, it would be great to see you there and thanks a million if you come down. We are planning on being open 4-10 Wed to Sun at this time, and when we can afford to hire some staff we will open for lunch too."

holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!

the blog's first soon to be number 1 video. holy shit!

for all the single guys out there

got this in my inbox today, she sounds hot ;)

How are you? My name is Alena. I from Russia, city Cheboksary. To me 28 years. I shall tell to you about myself a little.

I corresponded with the man from the your country before. His name Mark. He is from your country. We had a long correspondence and Mark wanted, that I have arrived to him in the your country that I have seen what life there. We have together submitted the statement on reception of the visa in your country! Mark spoke, that will help my in our meeting. I thought, that have met on the Internet the love.

I and Mark made the big plans for the future, but in a flash all has changed. From the moment of submission of the statement for the application of the visa has passed 5 months. For these five months there was for what I least waited. Mark informed, that his former wife has returned to him and lives together with him. Soon they should get married. And now in Mark plans there is no me. I wrote to him some times after that, but Mark have wished me only good luck in the further searches worthy men and have told, that our ways miss. And in October to me there has come the invitation in embassy behind reception of the visa.

In the beginning I wanted to throw out the invitation in embassy. To me it was sad, because my dreams were failed, I have nobody to fly in the your country. But my uncle have dissuaded me from resolute actions and have told, that else there is a chance to find worthy the man and to use the visa to a meeting with him. I well know English and practically I have visa your country. My uncle speaks, that it really solves many problems.

Approximately in 7 days the visa will be ready, and I should go to Moscow behind reception of the visa. I write to you because in my heart there is an empty seat. I do not search rich or poor. I search careful and responsible man which wants to enjoy a life together. Is this person you? I think, that I ask not much. I have told to you a lit tle about my life. I have told not all about myself, but it will be easier to me to write about myself if you will ask questions which interest you. I have told to you my history, and now I shall look forward to hearing from you with impatience. Write to me! I shall send you more photo in the following letter. I wait you answer. Alena.

P.S. I shall answer with pleasure if you write to me on:

this doesnt at all remind me of my last trip to perth,
heres the scenario- im standing at some traffic lights...
