sing along

i like to keep organised
so the chronic has a list too??

5 things black

Pete’s Black-List

I stumbled across this beauty approx a year ago.
I can’t recall the exact scenario other than my phone had died and I needed to make a call.
Searching for a friend’s number I noticed many of the names in Petes phone had X’s in tow. After asking Pete what it meant he replied in short that it was his digital black-list. Getting over the novelty and aptness of it, and scrolling through the lists permanent guests I realised that this was a character not to be trifled with.
Since then the only List to rival the one I saw that day is owned by Sydney’s own Mark Drew. If you’re lucky enough and the weather is right you may be able to catch an otic glimmer of this ever-increasing, close to flawless, list-noir.

Rollingstones/Paint it Black

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars and theyre all painted black
With flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a new born baby it just happens every day
I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then Ill fade away and not have to face the facts
Its not easy facin up when your whole world is black

No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing happening to you
If I look hard enough into the settin sun
My love will laugh with me before the mornin comes

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
Hmm, hmm, hmm,...
I wanna see it painted, painted black
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black

Death/ Tibetan Book of Living and Dying by Sogyol Rinpoche

I started reading this book a few years back. After returning from Europe and Japan I had cultivated an immature seeking of spiritual awareness. Also at the time my father had been experiencing some troubles with his health. Seeking my mothers guidance in dealing with such scenarios she offered me a progression of the Tibetan spiritual classic ‘The Tibetan Book of Dying’ called the ‘The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying’ by Sogyol Rinpoche.
Check it out. You have to sift through a lot of basic emotional concepts which proves to be childishly frustrating however the underlying wisdom within proves practical and convincing.

Yeah should be rad, but I think it will take some time to work out the bugs.

guide to longevity

eat less (within reason)and you will live longer (wikipedia 'harahachibu'). Refined foods like fast foods, donuts, white bread, cakes and biscuits should be reserved for treats only. Moderation in all things is a key, including alcohol, coffee
and the likes. Eat plenty of fresh vegetables, organically grown if
possible. Fish is good as are palm sized servings of lean meat or poultry.
Nuts and seeds are healthy, 1 handful per day. No soft drinks or anything
with artificial sweeteners. Of course indulgence in recreational drugs and
also the majority of prescription items will hasten an early demise.
Exercise is not an option and should become part of your lifestyle and be
partaken of on a daily basis. One should get plenty of sleep and avoid late
nights. Fresh air and clean water in plentiful amount is crucial. One must
also adopt a positive attitude and be grateful and give thanks for what one
is blessed with. Above all be cheerful and loving and try not to harbour
evil thoughts. Adopt practices to help deal with stress. Creative pursuits,
breathing exercises, yoga or Chi Gong are all good.

think u can drink?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
You won’t find it in the Guinness Book of World Records, but Andre the Giant holds the world record for the largest number of beers consumed in a single sitting. These were standard 12-ounce bottles of beer, nothing fancy, but during a six-hour period Andre drank 119 of them. It was one of the few times Andre got drunk enough to pass out, which he did in a hallway at his hotel. His companions, quite drunk themselves, couldn’t move the big man. Fearing trouble with cops, they stole a piano cover from the lounge and draped it over Andre’s inert form. He slept peacefully until morning, unmolested by anyone. Perhaps the hotel people thought he was a piece of furniture.

Think about it: 119 beers in six hours. That’s a beer every three minutes, non stop. That’s beyond epic. It’s beyond the ken of mortal men. It’s god-like.

idol of millions

before nas dropped the nasty

firstly - best wishes to jonas. hope things work out for your friend.

secondly - mid nineties. we're all sick of hip-hop this hip-hop that. i was dreaming up some post about the state of things, but then i remembered that its not my place - i couldn't care less about current rap dudes these days. skills. the game. flow.. lyrical smokation. what a bunch of egghead shit.

i just discovered podcasts. i still don't understand why they are legal and all is gravy, but i'm fiending for em. anyone else looking for mixes of stuff made up til the mid-nineties, have a look at http://www.fatlacesradio.com . these guys do a weekly show - try mix number 5 for a good overview of what they play. theres about 50 all up, all hosted and available for download.

whats everyone else listening to these days? and any other good mix sites? i also like beatsinspace.net for hour long mixes..

Help a sister out...

so one of the blog's friends is in need of assistance, she is currently going through a divorce and over christmas/new years spent all of her time in hospital having brain surgery (for real) after stress mixed with an undiagnosed condition caused a bleed on her brain... so yeah it was a less than joyful time.

anyway she is out of the hospital now with a few weeks up her sleeve until the docs decide what the next step is (so far it looks to be some pretty invasive action) but she has just got the lease on a house for her and her family who have all come here from OS to be by her side and she is need of some household items.

so if anyone has got some of the stuff below which they no longer want or need please hit me up through the blog.

cheers guys,

rdj
